COMMUNIQUE
The Board of Directors of The
Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd. (MCB) has taken cognizance of the judgment
delivered on February 8, 2007 by the High Court in London in connection with
the excess re-insurance contract between the MCB is not a party to this excess
re-insurance contract. However, MCB has an insurance contract with MUA, under
which a claim has been made since 2003. This claim is the subject
of a Plaint With Summons lodged in September 2004 before the Supreme Court of
Mauritius. This court action is still
pending before the Supreme Court of Mauritius, which has exclusive
jurisdiction in relation thereto. By order of the Board. February 14, 2007 This notice
is issued pursuant to Listing Rule 11.3. The Board of Directors of
The Mauritius Commercial Bank Limited accepts full responsibility for the
accuracy of the information contained in this notice. |
