COMMUNIQUE

The Board of Directors wishes to inform its shareholders and the public at large that Mr Georges Leung Shing, Managing Director, will retire on 31 March 2007 and is also pleased to announce that Mr Leung Shing will continue as Consultant for a period of one year as from 1 April 2007.

Mr Jacques M. d’Unienville, a Director of MTMD Board since 2001, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) designate and will assume office as CEO as from 1 April 2007. Mr d’Unienville holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and has, as CEO of Société Usinière du Sud, been actively involved in the development of the sugar cane cluster in the south of the island. He was instrumental to the successful setting-up of two companies of national interest in the energy sector, namely Compagnie Thermique du Sud Ltée and Compagnie Thermique de Savannah Ltée, of which he is the Chairperson. He is also presently the Chairperson of the Mauritius Sugar Producers Association.

Mr Christian Foo Kune, General Manager of MTMD and a Director of MTMD Board since 2005, has been appointed to assist Mr d’Unienville as Deputy CEO.

The Board of Directors takes this opportunity to place on record the significant contribution of Mr Leung Shing to the development of MTMD over the last twenty-six years and strongly believes that his valuable advice will be of great benefit to MTMD during his tenure as Consultant.

The Board of Directors is confident that, under the leadership of Mr d’Unienville, MTMD will continue to achieve prosperity and increase shareholder value in line with corporate governance best practices.
